War has been declared! The horn has been sounded, and the War Arrow symbolically broken by the Queens of the East and Midrealm. All the kingdoms formally declared their allegiances, and the official list will be available in tomorrow’s paper. For today, the official Combat War Points began at 11 am with the Unbelted Champions’ battle. The various champions’ tourneys will continue throughout the day on the Battlefield and Rapier Field.

Yesterday, we had the Kamikaze Armored Battle from 1 to 4 pm, where combatants could resurrect as often as they liked, which was perfect for getting back into the swing of things.

Also yesterday, combatants celebrated the “one true weapons form” at Tarl’s 15th Annual Polearm Tourney, which was fought bear-pit style for two 45-minute bouts. In between during the break, bellydancers celebrated the anniversary accompanied by a violin and drum. The fighting was briefly interrupted by the King and Queen of AEthelmearc, who came to celebrate the dedication and tenacity of Sir Tarl, gifting him with one of their Coronation spears as a token of their gratitude.

Following the polearm tourney, the Known World Novice Tourney, hosted by the East Kingdom, was undertaken by a number of chivalrous individuals, all to show their prowess and all with shiny new authorization cards.

Saturday rounded up at the Thrown Weapons range with a grueling Bear Pit Tournament.

There are open sparring sessions for all divisions of Youth Armored Combatants every day from 8 am to 10:30 am and from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Youth Combat List. Interested in fighting? Bring your parent or guardian and see what it’s all about.

Bring water, fight honorably, and cheer loudly!
